Thirsk Falcons FC, is an FA Accredited Community Club, providing a balance of quality football for all ages and gender with a desire to succeed at a semi-professional level. Thirsk Falcons was established in 1948, and the 2022/23 season sees us reach our 75th anniversary.

About Thirsk Falcons FC
Thirsk Falcons has over 30 FA and UEFA trained qualified, licenced coaches, all of which are DBS checked, first aid, safeguarding children trained, with 2 UEFA B level coaches, 5+ child welfare officers and multiple qualified age group referees. Thirsk Falcons is proud to provide and pay for the pathway for all current and future members and players of the club to become coaches and referees.
Club History
1948 till 1984
The club has grown from its early roots at Sowerby Flatts and a small field next to Thirsk racecourse, obtained on Peppercorn rent.
1984 to 2017
In 1984 Geoff Garbutt, our current club president, founded a Junior section after Thirsk High School could not manage a football team outside of the regular school hours. The club gradually grew in size and achieved FA Charter Community Club Status during this era
2017 to present day
2017, the seniors and juniors merged to form one club Thirsk Falcons FC. 2022 sees the Falcons move to Sowerby Sports Village (SSV).

Thirsk Falcons look to develop each player to maximise their potential – with teams from U7 all the way through to our Veterans Team we cater for all. Thirsk Falcons are increasing the amount of girls teams within the club and looking at the pathways for progression with of our soon to be formed women’s team.
